Very enjoyable Kay! I guess I am a 'Progressive Christian. Since I'm unable to attend in person I want to mention a couple things here. You asked what do you feel the Bible is? I think the Bible is an historical biography written by man after a multi-generational game of telephone. I think it is incomplete because it was compiled by politicians to be not only 'the' Christian Cannon, but, a weapon, a handbook and a , what I like to call, a 'control manual', I am not discounting its importance or, shall I say, 'Holiness'. I find it unsettling that so many 'Gospels' were omitted (but, glad I can enjoy The Gospel According to Judas, by listening to or watching 'Jesus Christ Superstar!!!).

You briefly hit on the ' Devine Duo'..the double creation stories. I laboured over creation versus evolution for years. I finally came-up with 'evolution-via-creation. I think Adam and Eve may have been the first of mankind to stand upright. Eve was created from Adams rib to illistrate that they are a team, standing beside each otjer. And, we are created in his image...2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 mouth, 2 arms, 2 legs, etc.. Colour was not an issue.

No Kay, homosexuallity in not mentioned in the Bible. Homosexuality wasn't mentioned anywhere til the middle of the 19th century. There was no psychology in Biblical times, we were just erect animals then! And, the Bible is not a sex manual!!!!!

In closing Kay, it makes more sense, to me at least, that God is a woman. Men can't give birth But, with men and thier insecurities, physicallity and penuses, thry have to make everything about him.

Have a great day!

I can't think of a mentor in my life but I've had great Role Models. I had great Christian parents who taught me what it meant to be a Christian. I saw first hand what dedication to God was really about. Faithfulness at all times, helping your fellow man and showing love and respect for all. I can honestly say when they left this earth for heaven....no one had a bad word to say about them...they lived their faith in all ways and I learned that and observed that first hand. I can only hope I can live up to their examples.
