Rev. Kay Albright moved to West Virginia in September 2010 to lead the planting of a new church in the Charleston area. The planting of Bridges of Grace United Church of Christ is the culmination of years of experience, education, and God’s guidance.
After 20 years in professional theater, Pastor Kay responded to God’s call to ministry. While serving as Assistant Chaplain to Missions at Ohio Wesleyan University Pastor Kay earned her Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Counseling Ministries at Methodist Theological School in Ohio. She was ordained by the Central Southeast Ohio Association, Ohio Conference of the United Church of Christ. God’s call on Pastor Kay has taken her to various places, worshipping with people of many different cultures and faith traditions. She served as Associate Pastor at Dublin UCC and teacher at First Community Church. Pastor Kay completed her Clinical Pastoral Education at The Ohio University Medical Center. She has mucked out houses after Hurricane Katrina, written a study on the Apostle Paul, and cried with college students in the Slave Castles of Ghana, West Africa.
Pastor Kay believes passionately in God’s extravagant welcome and love for ALL persons no matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey.
